William G (Bill) Washburn

William G (Bill) Washburn, 70, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at his residence. He was born December 15, 1954.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marie S Washburn; His son, William B Washburn (Crystal) of Alexander City; daughters, Amanda Elder of Alexander City, Diana Walker of Milton, KY; stepdaughter, Mary Martin of Jacksons Gap; brother, James Washburn (Elaine) of Newark, OH; sister, Grace Bland of Marianna, FL; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 nephew and 4 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, James G Washburn; his mother, Betty J Ferguson; and his sister, Rena White.

William was a graphic artist at Russell Corporation for many years. He was a life-long learner and loved history. He was still enrolled and taking college courses at the time of his death. He loved to write stories about history and started his own website to answer questions about history. He was always learning something new.

No service is planned at this time, donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Association.
